Burren Slow Food Festival
The Burren Slow Food Festival follows the principles as established by the international Slow Food Movement. Food that is good, clean and fair. The foods we eat should taste good; be produced in a clean way that does not harm the environment, animal welfare or human health; and food producers should receive fair compensation for their work.
With food so central to daily life, it naturally follows that what we eat has a profound effect on our surroundings, including the landscape of the countryside, longstanding cultural and local traditions, and the biodiversity of the earth. Slow Food, through education, sharing & from a grassroots level, illuminates the strong connection between Plate and Planet.
Clare Burren Marathon challenge
This is a road, green road and trail challenge across the Beautiful Scenic Burren. Enjoy some of Europe’s most unique landscapes and see the Riches of the Burren in Bloom. Each participant has a choice of full, half or mini-marathon on the day. All three challenges start in Ballyvaughan, Co.Clare at 9 am, and all three taking you on and off-road to the finish line on The Pier at Ballyvaughan.
Tour De Burren Cycle Challenge
The Burren Cycling Club was formed on the 28th of November 2003 to promote cycling in the beautifully picturesque area of the Burren in North Clare. The original founders of the club were life long cycling enthusiast, John Nilan, and Patrick O Donoughue. Cycling within Clare is nothing new with a variety of clubs located around the county. The Burren with its vast array of terrain ranging from the gentle slopes of Fanore to the lung-bursting Corkscrew Hill poses a challenge for all levels of cyclist.
